how to monitor force-displacement relationship

Hi all,

I want to monitor he force-displacement relationship of one system. In this system, one end is fixed and another end is uniaxially loaded. Here are 2 questions about it.

  1. Which command can be used to apply a constant displacement load at one end (displace_atom, velocity or fix move ?).

  2. How can I output the corresponding force from the loaded end.

Regards,

MC.

Hi all,

I want to monitor he force-displacement relationship of one system. In this
system, one end is fixed and another end is uniaxially loaded. Here are 2
questions about it.

this scenario has been described and asked about several times,
as is probably true for many things that you may want to ask
about LAMMPS. in order to keep up the good spirits of the people
on the mailing list it is thus highly recommended to first spend
some time searching the mailing list archives and reading up
the corresponding sections of the manual.

1. Which command can be used to apply a constant displacement load at one
end (displace_atom, velocity or fix move ?).

which of these commands will be active during the entire run?
there is a second option but that requires using additional commands.

2. How can I output the corresponding force from the loaded end.

how can you get access to properties of atoms in general?

cheers,
