Hello
I have used the following steps to build LAMMPS:
1.sudo apt-get update
2.sudo apt-get install build-essential
3.sudo apt-get install build essential mpich-bin libmpich1.0-dev mpi-doc fftw2 fftw-dev libxaw7-dev
and everything was fine up till here.
4. in the src directory I have type : make serial
and the trouble began.
Now the process hadn’t terminated for about more than an hour ( and thus I had close the terminal ) . It had started building LAMMPS (what I guess) but didn’t terminated and the same expression repeated after few cycles i.e.
make[1]:leaving directory '/home/internet/Desktop/lammps/src/obj_serial
make[1]:entering directory '/home/internet/Desktop/lammps/src/obj_serial
make[1]File ‘write_restart.cpp’ has modification time 1.9e+08 s in the future
and some files “.cpp” were read and the same repeated and hadn’t halted.
Please give your suggestions to rectify this problem.
Thanks,

please consult a local linux expert. your machine setup is broken
and has a system time set to way back in the past.
this has *nothing* to do with lammps.
sorry, you should not try compiling a software on your own,
if you have no linux skills. there are tons of people around
that have them and for whom (because they are local) it is
*much* easier to help you than via a mailing list and from
halfway around the globe. this is just common sense.
