[lammps-users] adding dipole moment to a body particle

Is it possible to add a point dipole to one of the sub particles of a body type particle?

Do you see it mentioned anywhere in the manual?

You don’t say which body type, presumably the nparticle style. The doc page for it is here: http://lammps.sandia.gov/doc/Howto_body.html
As Axel said, it doesn’t mention anything but particle coords, so the answer to your Q is no.
A new style with a dipole option would have to be coded, as well as pair styles which use it.

What you probably want are rigid bodies (see fix rigid and rigid/small) which can consist on N internal particles.
Each of those particles can be assigned a dipole moment.
