Towhee currently can read in old lammps files and writes out new lammps files.
I just haven't had demand for updating the write capabilities yet, but it shouldn't take more than a day if someone is interested.
Of course, in any specific case there often will be some small problems, but should be easy to fix up for the force fields implemented into Lammps.
