Matthias, I tried using paraview 3.8 and I think I see the same problem. I'm not sure what the issue is since we are using a standard format readable by other visualization codes (e.g., ensight) and it works with older versions. For now I suggest using paraview 3.6.2 until we can figure out what the problem is.
