hi everybody i have installed lammps on my linux pc which is fedora core 6. i used the make file “openmpi”. Now for other reasons we have installed fedora core 11. Can i install lammps with the same makefile or what is the deal like. can somebody comment on it.

how about trying it out first?
in principle, it should work, if you have the required
development tools and packages installed. the gcc-4.4
compiler that is bundled with f11 is a bit more picky
than previous versions and may have a few "undocumented
features" like any new software version, but that you
can only find out by giving it a try and comparing the
results with what you got with the old compiler and what
the reference outputs in the lammps examples show.
