[lammps-users] Largest Simulation

Dear all,

Do you have any estimation about the largest 3D simulation of a fluid,
ever done, with LAMMPS? Is LAMMPS suitable to simulate microfliuidics? How
is it about the solids?

Any response would be appreciated.

Dear all,

dear ali,

how about the size of the machine you want to be running on?

as far as i know, LAMMPS has been able to run systems of
billions of atoms. it will be dead slow, however, unless you
have hundred thousands of processors on a machine with extremely
good interconnect.

the examples showcased on the LAMMPS homepage give a good
overview of where it is good at.

cheers,
