Dear LAMMPS community members**,**
One NSF-funded Ph.D. position is available immediately in the area of computational polymers in the group of Dr. Jihong Ma (https://sites.google.com/umn.edu/jihong-ma-group/home?authuser=0) at the University of Vermont.
The successful candidate will work together with Prof. Jihong Ma on polymer simulation using density functional tight-binding theory (DFTB). The candidate will also have an opportunity to conduct this research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory for two summers. The ideal candidate must have a solid background in physics and mathematics and must present a strong motivation for scientific research. Students with degrees in physics, materials science, chemistry, mechanics, engineering, and mathematics are encouraged to apply. Research experience with DFT, DFTB, MD, and/or MM and a good publication record (journal articles) are desired. Applicants must have earned an MS degree and must meet minimum GPA requirements for Ph.D. admission.
Interested candidates should send a CV with a publication list, a short description of research interests, course transcripts, and names of three references from previous research positions, by email to Jihong[dot]Ma[at]uvm[dot]edu. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until a suitable candidate is identified.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted. Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements or with incomplete application will not be considered.
