Dear friends,

Is there any way to directly calculate the shear stress in LAMMPS? Normally it gives the six stress components. Using those components, we can find the maximum shear stress but it needs calculating the eigenvalues of the stress tensor which is costly.

You would have to post-process the 6 values if you want to compute
the evalues of a 3x3 matrix.
