I don't see a variable vol line.
Also to refer to it, it would be ${vol} for multi-letter variables.

well, it is the variable from the thermo_style, can’t I use it here?
According to the description of variable, it should be ok.

To use the thermo variable, just use vol. If you type
v or {vol} then it's your variable. $vol will be
interpreted as $v. The examples on the variable
doc page illustrate this.
