load control deformation

Hello LAMMPS users:

I would like to do a load-control (instead of displacement-control) deformation simulation. Since the boundary condition along the loading direction is shrink wrapped in my case, I cannot control pressure to do that. Is it a good idea to use “fix addforce”?

My system is a bimaterial: polymer applied to a crystalline substrate, and the substrate is assumed rigid (“fix rigid”) during the loading process. Can I apply “fix addforce” to a group of atoms set as rigid body?

yes, fix addforce should do something close to what you want,

though I’m unclear on how exactly you want to apply your load.

You can use fix addforce on atoms in a rigid body.
