Na-B-C phases missing

Hello,

I was checking the Na–B–C system phases on the website two weeks ago and found the following three phases, as shown in the picture below:

The NaB13C2 and NaBC7 structures appeared to have been added recently, as I had not seen them before.
Now, when I search for Na–B–C structures, I can only find the NaBC phase—those two other phases are missing. However, if I try to generate a phase diagram, the missing phases still appear as stable:

I wonder if this is a bug, or if there is another reason why these structures are missing.

Thank you!
Daviti

Hi @Davit_Gochitashvili,

Can you clarify what you mean when you say you “search for the Na-B-C structures”? Using the materials explorer, the api, or one of the apps (like the phase diagram app)?

Hi @tsmathis, thank you for the quick reply.

Yes, using materials explorer:

I get only 1 result.

As had IDs of the other 2 structures I tried to search them with the API, they did not show up there either.

Best,
Daviti

Ah, potentially due to those two materials being part of the GNoME dataset, which has its own licencse + TOS: GNoME Database License and Terms of Use

Have you opted in to viewing the GNoME dataset? A modal will pop up if you navigate to the GNoME Explorer asking if you agree to the GNoME TOS before allowing you to view those materials in the explorers. This will carry over to your api access as well.

Reason I ask is that if I use that link you provided I get the three materials you expected (I have agreed to the GNoME TOS):

Thank you for your answer.

I suspected that would be a case. When I try to access the GNoME Explorer I am prompted this. When I click confirm nothing happens.

Then I tried to use Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome and I accessed to the GNoMe database where those structures appeared.

Thank you for your help!

If that modal pops up then you hadn’t previously accepted the GNoME TOS for whatever account you are currently logged into.

After you confirm your agreement with the TOS the only changes you will see are that GNoME data will be available in the main materials explorer and you will also have access to the dedicated GNoME explorer.

Re: the browser differences, do you have multiple accounts? Guessing you have one account that had agreed to the TOS and another that didn’t.

Anyways, glad to help.

Yes, I just noticed I have been using 2 different accounts

Thank you,
Daviti
