We just published a new feature release of LAMMPS and made it available for download. The Windows installer packages will take some more time, as usual, and should be ready tomorrow.
Details about the significant changes and new features are here (and links to all included pull requests): Release Feature release 27 June 2024 · lammps/lammps · GitHub
This is scheduled the last feature release before the next stable release, so from here on the LAMMPS developers will focus on bugfixes and running tests. You can help us by downloading and checking out this release and test it as much as you can and report anything that does not work as expected or where the code crashes. This is especially all the new features (e.g. support for general triclinic cells, or expanded support for typelabels) that were added since August last year. If you are not a programmer, you can help by proofreading the new or updated documentation pages in the manual.
The next stable release is expected in about 6 weeks in mid-August 2024. There also will be one more update with bugfixes for the current stable release.
Thanks in advance to everybody that helps us making the next stable release the best LAMMPS release ever.
