Dear all,
The Google Deepmind repository states that:
this repository serves to share the discovery of 381,000 novel stable materials
The GNoME Explorer in Materials Project lists 45,608 materials. Is that mean not all stable materials from Google Deepmind are included in the GNoME Explorer? Is there any detailed guide or easy way to search and obtain materials from Deepmind’s repository? And finally is there any plans to include all materials in GNoME Explorer please?
Kind regards,
Ballmer
We’re planning to release ~119,000 GNoME materials that were initially determined to be stable with the r2SCAN meta-GGA. The remaining ~73k materials will be released in an upcoming database update.
These 119k materials are a subset of the 381k you referred to. We’re working to eventually incorporate the superset into MP

Thank you for your reply. May I ask if there is a timeline for this update? Also, is there a detailed guide or recommended method to explore the GNoME dataset in the meantime?
Re: the release timeline, the batch of 73k materials Aaron mentioned are on the docket for the next data release. This should be accomplished in the next couple of months, no firm target date has been set though. We’re holding off a bit to track usage and load on the database + api to ensure everything remains performant ahead of doing such a large jump in total entries in the database.
And as for data exploration, that entirely depends on what you are interested in. I can point you to api endpoints and the api spec for different properties, but you will likely get better advice from forum users that are downstream consumers of MP’s data.
