Hello. I am using open suse 13.1. I downloaded the lammps pre-executable version. Can any body tell me how to apply the patch files to pre-built executables.

You cannot patches are meant to update source code not executables. Please install the repository rpm and wait a couple more days until I have caught up with building the latest versions after being away from my desk for over two weeks.
