Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Tribology at Swinburne University of Technology (Melbourne, Australia)

We are seeking an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Fellow to make a significant contribution to an Australian Research Council Discovery Project on the Molecular Design of Complex Lubricants to Reduce Friction. This project is a collaboration between researchers at Swinburne University of Technology, RMIT University and Imperial College London and is available for 2 years. One if its key goals is to investigate potential new lubricants that significantly reduce frictional dissipation and greenhouse gas emissions. The successful applicant will play a key role in implementing new nonequilibrium molecular dynamics algorithms to predict the friction of realistic contacts under mechanical operating conditions of high strain rates, temperatures and pressures.

Interested candidates should contact Professor Billy Todd in the first instance (btodd@…9124…). Further information about the position and application process may be found at https://swinjobs.nga.net.au/?jati=9786DACB-8D39-45A6-6F1B-B660A5015F38. The closing date for application is 30 June 2020.
