Hello,
I am trying to deposit Cr particles on a Fe substrate using fix deposit. I use fix electron/stopping in the calculation. The maximum allowed energy in the file is 30keV.
Cr-elstop-table-30keV.txt (1.8 KB)
I set the maximum energy of Cr to 20keV. However, the error is :ERROR on proc 11: Fix electron/stopping: kinetic energy too high for atom 1050002: 87920.12915634239 vs 30000.
Is this a normal phenomenon? Or there are some errors in my simulation?
I really appreciate your suggestions.
Thank you.
No, it is not normal, or else there would not be an error message.
Impossible to say from remote and without knowing anything about you, your level of experience and the details of your simulation.
The matter of the fact is, however. that atom 1050002 the kinetic energy is about 3 times higher than the limit of your table. How this happens is something that you have to figure out in order to resolve this issue. Visualization can help, as can dumping the kinetic energy of all atoms.
Thanks very much. I will check my codes again.
