I have a question about setting the atom mass.
in the input data file I use Mass command give
the atom mass. But for some reason the value in
the data file is not correct.
in LAMMPS script I read in a EAM potential file
after read_data command. I want to know if the
mass value in the EAM file will overwrite the one
given in the data file?

yes. please look at the EAM pair style documentation and conduct a
simple test to confirm.
