Dear LAMMPS users,
We just posted the 20 September 2021 patch release on GitHub: Release Patch release 20 September 2021 · lammps/lammps · GitHub
It will be available on lammps.org for download as well soon.
This marks the end of the “stabilization period” in preparation for a stable release soon.
We thus encourage everybody to try it out and give us feedback and report any issues with compiling and installing that have escaped us. If you are aware of any other bug(s), please report them now. You have about one week to submit a bug report or a pull request with fixes before we will publish the next stable release.
We particularly encourage people that prepare binary packages of LAMMPS to check this version out, so you will be prepared for the upcoming stable release.
