Request for Public Spectral and Optical Property Data of Photonic Materials for ML-Based Modeling

Title: Request for Public Spectral and Optical Property Data of Photonic Materials for ML-Based Modeling

Dear Researchers and Data Providers,

I am currently conducting an academic research project entitled “Development of an Intelligent System for Predicting Optical Behavior of Photonic Materials Using Machine Learning and Inverse Material Design.”

For this purpose, I am looking for open-access or shareable datasets containing experimental or simulated optical properties of materials — such as refractive index (n, k), reflectance, transmittance, bandgap, and dielectric constants — measured or computed across different wavelengths, temperatures, and material types (metals, semiconductors, polymers, nanostructures, etc.).

If possible, datasets from the following repositories would be especially useful:

RefractiveIndex.INFO (bulk or thin-film data in CSV/TXT formats)

Materials Project / NOMAD / Springer / Figshare (optical constants or DFT results)

Experimental photonic data extracted from journal DOIs

Any format (CSV, JSON, or Excel) is acceptable. I will cite all data sources appropriately according to their license terms (CC-BY or CC0).

Your help and collaboration will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Sincerely,
Ezzatollah Joudaki

Take a look at our documentation for information about extracting electronic structure and dielectric functions. MP currently only distributes zero temperature data.

If you have specific questions about Materials Project data / software used to extract that data, let us know. Otherwise, this is out of scope for this forum.
