restart2data tool

Hi everybody,

I have a question concerning the restart2data tool. Is it possible that this tool is no longer supported. Because in the latest stable Version of Lammps (1.Feb 2014) one doesn't find the mentioned code in the folder tools anymore. Also, if I use restart2data from the previous version of Lammps (which worked before the update), the tool won't work and I get the error "Invalid flag in header section of restart file"
Best regards,
Andreas Rühl

I think I can answer that:
http://lammps.sandia.gov/doc/Section_tools.html#restart
So you are right, it is no longer supported.

Best,
Sebastian.

You can’t use an old restart2data with the current
version of LAMMPS (for restart files written by

the current version) b/c the format of the files
has changed. The restart2data tool is obsolete.

LAMMPS now has a write_data command,

and you can look at the -r command-line switch
to do exactly what restart2data used to do.
