Set charge on atoms in data file

Dear LAMMPS users

I have a system to two types of atoms with coordinates stores in a data file. I am using charge as atomic style and want to set charge on each particle. One way is to insert a charge column in the data file with corresponding charge for each particle. Is there any other way so that I can set charge on all one types of atoms and similarly on other atoms just with one command and dont get any error.

With atom_style charge" lammps says cant set this attribute with this style.
