Sign of energy dissipated by the thermostat.

Dear all,

I noticed that during the equilibration of my system (compressing
fluid), the cummulative energy dissipated by the langevin thermostat
(tally yes) goes from negative to possitive and keeps growing. This
happens when the temperature of the system is above the target set in
the thermostat so it should be removing energy from the system. Is that
the current convention for the sign? (+) for energy removed and (-) for
energy added?

Thanks in advance,

Eduardo

yes. this quantity is the accumulated energy change to the heat bath.
