I think Axel is looking into some recent issue with the GPU (and possibly
USER-CUDA) packages. Maybe that will fix your issue.

i will look into the GPU package when i get a few urgent issues off my
desk, because there is a finite chance, that i introduced a problem and
thus it would be my responsibility to fix the problem. it is however
unlikely that i'll look into USER-CUDA. there are already some known
problems with pressure calculations in USER-CUDA, but the USER-CUDA code
base has not been updated to changes in the baseline code for an extended
period outside from making it compile. it is too large a package and any
bugfix would likely require significant work. i am already maintaining too
many modules in LAMMPS and beyond and i don't want to "inherit" USER-CUDA
as well.
