Temporally oscillating potential field

Dear Users,

Please excuse brevity. May be I am too ignorant.
Can you please advise how can I model a bunch of atoms (may be interacting via simple LJ) in a temporally oscillating potential field? If I try to adhere with “fix deform variable” type protocol, will it work?

huh? fix deform?? why that???

this sounds more like a case for fix addforce.
too obvious perhaps?
