concerning the ppa:openkim/latest Debian repository, I got this warning:

Hi Miroslav,

We are no longer maintaining the Ubuntu releases at this time (dealing with so many release workflows is unfeasible for a small development team like OpenKIM).

At this time, the only updated installation options for Linux are using Conda (or equivalent replacement like mamba/micromamba), or building from source. See OpenKIM · Obtaining KIM Models · Interatomic Potentials and Force Fields
