I am currently working on an alloy system with high distortions, and I found that DXA 2.0dev1 algorithm can identify the dislocation systems more robustly. I have been using the gui for this function, but I can’t seem to figure out how to use this in the python interface (ovito.modifiers — OVITO Python Reference 3.15.1 documentation).
Can anyone point me to a direction on this if possible?
I’m glad you’re interested in the new preview version of DXA. Unfortunately, this feature cannot yet be used from Python. The reason is that the feature is still in a very early stage of development and is not yet suitable for production use.
It’s good to hear though that the feature is already producing better results in your case than the classic DXA feature. Feedback like this is very helpful for development, as we still need to understand how DXA 2.0 behaves in real-world use cases.
Would you perhaps be willing to share a snapshot of your alloy system with us? I would like to compare it with the old DXA myself and incorporate your case into further development. You can simply send a structure file to [email protected] if you don’t like to share it publicly. Thank you!
