visualize crack growth in OVITO during

I am analyzing crack growth during a LAMMPS tensile simulation. Following the paper, I used CNA in OVITO, but I only obtained a grain map (Image B) instead of clearly visible cracks as in Image A. Am I missing an additional analysis or visualization step?

Looking at image B, it appears that there are no cracks in the slice you present. This could be either because you’re looking at the wrong spot in the sample or because your material does not deform via crack nucleation and propagation under your load and temperature conditions.

You can try using the Construct Surface Mesh modifier to find free volume from cracks in your sample. The resulting voids might be easier to spot using meshes instead of the CNA color coding.
